So I'm back from my six days in Spokane. It was lovely. It's slightly more humid there, which was really nice, there are trees and a river and a waterfall and gardens designed by the sons of Frederick Law Olmsted (father of landscape design). I haven't finished The Odyssey yet (80 pages to go!), but I've already picked out my next book. If on a Winter's Night a Traveler by Italo Calvino. It's about reading!! How could it be bad?! ;)

I just watched Sweet Land with one of my roomies. It was a very nice movie and made me smile. But I now have this urge to run off and be the mail-order bride to a Norwegian farmer. And I only want to watch nice movies from now on. Which I suppose means I'll have to steel myself for Bette Davis movies, eh?
